Nigeria's senior women team need nothing short of victory against the United States of America to fancy their chances of reaching the next stage of the Women's World Cup on Wednesday morning.

The African champions boast of a point from two games and will face their stiffest opposition in the ‘Group of Death’ when they face Jill Ellis’ side at the BC Place Stadium, Vancouver.

Despite the North Americans leading the group, they are still struggling to exert their supremacy in the competition no thanks to their aging forwards and defenders.

The Americans will have to cope with the quick Nigerian forwards should they dream of continuing their dominance over the Falcons on the international scene.

Edwin Okon will have to cope with the absence of Ugo Njoku who has been handed a three-match ban and fined heavily for serious foul play against Australia’s Samantha Kerr as he would be banking on 101 cap bound Perpetua Nkwocha and Asisat Oshoala to upset the Americans.
